We always hear about London, Paris, Los Angeles, and New York. I don’t know about all of you, but that’s getting a little old. While those 4 cities all boast awesome qualities, there are so many other amazing places to visit, or retire, around the world. I’m going to touch on three that I’ve done a tad of research on to give you a broader perspective and more options for seeing the world.
La Moraleja in Madrid, Spain
Specifically, the neighborhood of La Moraleja in North Madrid is spectacularly affluent. According to Wikipedia, La Moraleja is the Beverly Hills of Spain. It is “home to some of Spain’s wealthiest people with sprawling mansions and several luxury golf courses such as La Moraleja Golf Club Madrid.” It’s seems to be a major retirement or affluent family community with a variety of fun activities for leisure, play and relaxation, but also an exciting nightlife with lots of fabulous restaurants. The homes in the area are amazing. Check out these amazing homes for sale to see if you’d feel at home in a luxury villa in La Moraleja.
Singapore is an island just off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia. It is actually both a city and a country, which declared independence from the UK in 1963. Singapore has since been recognized as one of the “Four Asian Tigers” along with Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan, for being one of the top highly free and developed economies. In July of 2009, Singapore became the 10th most expensive place to live in the world for expatriates, and it is the 5th most expensive place to live in Asia.
Abu Dhabi, UAE
I’m sure you’ve already heard of it, but talk about luxurious, Abu Dhabi is one of the most affluent places in the world. It is part of the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East. It is technically an island, but is only separated from the mainland by channels or rivers. Abu Dhabi boasts beautiful ocean views, expensive homes, lots of entertainment and activities, and delicious high class restaurants. Currently the 4th most expensive place in the region for expatriates, Abu Dhabi is the 68th most expensive place to live in the world. On top of that, in 2007, Abu Dhabi was recognized as the richest city in the world by CNN and Fortune magazine.
