Banana Time

Beach Bungalow Time

This is a huge announcement, folks! Our banana tree just grew a flower! That means we’re going to get bananas!

I discovered the flower a few days ago, so Kyle and I jumped on the computer and did some research. We didn’t find out much besides the fact that the bananas will start to come in the spring. We aren’t quite sure what type of banana tree we have. There seems to be thousands of banana tree types, so figuring out what type we have is like a needle in a haystack unless you went to green thumb school (which I did not).

If any of you know what type of banana tree this is, and what type of banana we’re going to get that would be awesome! Just leave us a comment if you know. Maybe you can tell from these pics:

So that’s how big our banana trees are now. You can see the progress of these banana trees here, here, and here. Two of our banana trees have grown a flower, so I hope we get some sort of good edible bananas that we can enjoy! But even if we don’t, I think it will just be cool if we get bananas period, and that I actually cultivated a banana tree to the point that it could actually bear fruit! 🙂 here to leave a comment!
