DIY Ikat Pumpkin

Today’s Guest Post Is by Maria from Redecorate!

Hi, there! I’m Maria and I am the author of the blog Redecorate – a place where I write about all things DIY, home décor, and interior design. :-) I want to say thanks so much to Lisha and Kyle for asking me to blog here today! I have a fun Fall project for you, and if you have any leftover fabric scraps laying around… now’s the time to use them!

What You’ll Need

-Any sort of fake pumpkin you can find (mine is from Hobby Lobby)
-Mod Podge
-A sponge brush
-Ikat fabric! (I used a ripped Old Navy dress, but any fabric will do)

What You’ll Do

1. Cut the fabric into pieces – I used larger pieces to get more coverage and so that it would take less time.

2. Simple brush a layer of Mod Podge onto the pumpkin, cover with the piece of fabric, and then brush over the fabric. Keep repeating this step and overlap the fabric each time.

3. Then, let it dry!

4. Finally, admire. :-)

I hope you have enjoyed this little Fall tutorial! Please stop by my blog to see more fun crafts and decorating ideas!

xo,
maria
