UFO Challenge – My UnFinished Object!

Hey everyone, if you don’t already know, I’m co-hosting a huge DIY event: The UFO DIY Challenge!

I wanted to present you with my UnFinished Object to get you inspired!

I often go over to my friend Rachel’s house (who blogs at The Casual Castle) to do some home improvements and teach her how to do some things. Just last week I showed her how to caulk the floor moulding we put in her bedroom awhile back.

One of the things we’ve started but have yet to finish is the medicine cabinet redo. Rachel and her husband wanted the medicine cabinet in their bathroom gone and just have some open shelving there instead. Rachel also wanted to get a new mirror without a shelf, so it doesn’t block the lighting or the new shelving where the medicine cabinet once was. Here’s the before picture we took:

We got rid of the medicine cabinet and took down the mirror. Here I am cutting through the caulking around the edges with a utility knife to loosen the medicine cabinet from the wall’s clutches:

You also have to remove the screws that are inside the medicine cabinet:

Here’s the stage we’re at now:

Rachel has since put a flat trash bag over the gaping hole for the time being, until we finally get around to finishing it up. And now the time has come.

So this is going to be my UFO! What will you choose to do?

Go ahead and post a before picture of your UnFinished Object on your blog (nothing gives you more motivation than telling the world that you’re gonna do something!). Grab the UFO button code below and tell your blog readers to join the party and choose their UFO for the Challenge!

  1. Alright, I’m making serious progress on my UFO wedding invites (haha, that just sounds hilarious, doesn’t it?!). I’ve even been taking (crappy) pictures along the way so I can do a real blog post about them.
I wanted to have them done before I started packing for the move, and your deadline works perfect with that 🙂

Also, I chose your blog as one of my fifteen favorites to be tagged with the Versatile Blogger Award! Check out my blog to see the deets:
