If you’re here for the first time, you have to check out the Ugly House Tour Part One.
On January 12, 2008, we went to Sea World, courtesy of Kyle’s parents. They got us annual passes for Christmas, so we got started right away on that to get our “money’s” worth.
While we may not have gotten pictures of tiger sharks and polar bears (like the title proclaims), all of those animals are available to view at Sea World.
First we had to figure out where to go, so Mr. Map Man did the job:
We saw the dolphins first:
They always look so happy!
Too bad the glass (or plastic) was all scratched up…
“Interacting” with the dolphins:
*Note that I’m wearing a tank top and shorts on a January day… crazy weather we have here (it’s not always like this, but we often have warm days in the winter). This winter (2011-2012) has been the warmest for the longest time in my life I think.
Then we saw the otters:
They are so cute too! And so is Kyle, looking at the otters:
Next up was the Shamu show. Here we are waiting for it to start:
You also get to pet the sting rays at sea world:
They are so smooth and slimy feeling (although they’re not actually slimy, they just feel like it).
Then we had a crazy time with the sea lions:
And here’s a random bird who decided to join the party:
And more sea lions (why does it seem like sea animals are the most entertaining to watch?)
This one was my favorite. He kept thinking I had food to feed him, but I didn’t. I felt kinda bad.
Here’s a Video of the Sea Lions going crazy because they all wanted food (little fishies):
On to the flamingos:
I caught one with both feet on the ground!!!
And one with its head in the water, which I thought looked pretty funny:
Then we went to the dolphin show:
Hello Flipper!
Next was the penguin exhibit:
Which way do we go? I don’t know!!!
This is the best pic we got of one swimming:
And this was by far the chubbiest in the snowy penguin exhibit:
Well, I hope you enjoyed living vicariously through our Sea World visit. Tomorrow we are going to show you pics of when we went to Monster Jam where we got to see monster trucks smash each other. It was a hick of a time. Come back tomorrow to see white trash, mullets, and monster trucks!

Hi Alysa, I think that you and Josh and the kiddos should get to go to a monster truck rally sometime. I think that would be really fun for you guys to see
i want to go to sea world!! we should go for an hour for free sometime! love you!
Bestie! So glad you finally wrote a comment on our blog
It made my day! Yes we should go for the free hour at sea world. that would be so fun! and we should go on the roller coaster

Kyle and I actually just went to the zoo last week. It was so nice and relaxing. Since Kyle’s parents got us the year long membership, we don’t have to rush around and see everything in one day. We can just go in and sit by the giraffes all day if we want. So much better than rushing around all day long and getting tired legs
Yeah, that’s the thing about San Diego. It does rain, though, so that would not be a good day to go to the zoo (or sea world).
Yay! I finally have time to stop by and read!
I’ve missed keeping up with your updates. I guess that’s just life, huh?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a flamingo in real life, but OTTERS are probably my favorite animal when it comes to aquariums and the like.
Looks like you guys had such a great time!
I know how it is. There are so many blogs I love to read but I only have so much time
I love otters too! They’re so cute and playful!
Love the sea world pics also! The chubby penguin has to be one of the cutest creatures I’ve ever seen
I love the fact that your husband mapped the route
Whenever my husband and I go anywhere he is usually the one to map and/or follow logical routes and I’m the one who’s all over the place without a plan… Thanks again for becoming my first follower, Amanda

I’m actually the extreme planner type, but sometimes I have to let Kyle take the lead to balance things out. It’s not super easy for me, but it teaches me patience
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, Amanda! Looking forward to your future blog posts
OMGoodness! I haven’t been to Sea World in such a long time…which means we haven’t brought our girls yet! SMH! I love that white bird with the beautiful flowing feathers on his head…very majestic! Glad u guys had a great time!
xo,
Louise
Louise, oh my gosh! you gotta take your girls. Kids love sea world! You might as well get the annual pass because it’s almost (or maybe it is) the same price as a single ticket.
Y’all really got some great pictures of all the animals! I’m also happy to know I’m not the only one who is able to walk around in a tank top on some January days.
thanks! Yeah, I’m sure you’re always keeping your summer clothes out year round, huh?
