Hit the Flight Deck

So after we finished the master bedroom, we took a break and went to the USS Midway museum located in Downtown San Diego. So today we’re going to give you a little tour of that.

First we ate some lunch at Lil Piggy’s BBQ in Coronado.

Then we took the ferry from Coronado to Embarcadero.

The Midway Museum is a parked Aircraft carrier.

Here is the little mini Midway tour that we’re gonna give you:

Look! We’re an airplane!

Kyle’s dad telling him a story:

10-4, Over.

Cool view of Bay/Bridge/Coronado:

Hardcore helicopter girl. The scratch on my lip is from Kitty playing with my FACE!

Helicopter cockpit:

Sailor Kissing Girl statue:

I kind of just enjoyed looking at the views out from the ship…

The Yosts. It was very windy up on the flight deck.

Cool Helicopters:

Another cool helicopter closer up:

That concludes our tour of the Midway and surrounding region. If you ever come to San Diego, this is a cool place to go if you’re interested in war/planes/history/military stuff.

You also learn a lot more if you wear those headsets you see me wearing in the photos. At each exhibit, there is a number and you input the number on your headset and this guy comes on and he’s talking about that specific exhibit. It’s pretty cool. But you could literally spend hours listening to the man on the headset because he seems to talk for at least 10 minutes on each exhibit… so you pretty much have to cut him short to move on to the next exhibit.

I have to say, just going out on the flight deck and see the views is worth it!

Tomorrow, we start work on the master bathroom, so come back for that!
